On a trade mission in Brazil, the official Nigerian delegation, led by the Federal Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Aisha Abubakar, participated in a meeting in the Special Secretariat for Foreign Trade and International Affairs (Secint, in Portuguese) of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy, on March 26. In the occasion, were discussed measures to boost bilateral investments.
The delegation was received by the special Secretary Marcos Troyjo and his technical team, the meeting was also attended by the Nigerian Ambassador to Brazil, Christopher Okeke. In a statement, the Ministry of Economy said that it “reiterated its interest in signing an Agreement on Investment Cooperation and Facilitation (ACFI, in Portuguese) with Nigeria and reactivating the Brazil-Nigeria Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, paralyzed since 2013.”

The trade mission continues until March 29. In addition to Brasília, the mission will also go through São Paulo, where it has meetings with the city’s mayor, Bruno Covas, at the Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo (FIESP), and at the Brazil National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI).
