6 countries host traveling Pan-African contemporary art exhibition

One hundred works by 28 African artists, from 15 different nationalities, make up the itinerant exhibition Prête-moi Ton Rêve / Lend Me Your Dream.

Launched in June 2019 in Casablanca (Morocco), the exhibition has already passed through Dakar (Senegal) and goes to Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Lagos (Nigeria), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Cape Town (South Africa) and Marrakech (Morocco), considered the African cultural capital in 2020.

Organized by the Fondation pour le Développement de la Cultura Contemporaine Africaine, the initiative wants to encourage the development of pan-African artistic collaborations, being organized “in Africa, by Africans, and for Africans”.

Yacouba Konaté

Among the list of participating artists are El Anatsui (Ghana), Jane Alexander (South Africa), William Kentridge (South Africa), Abdoulaye Konaté (Mali), Mohamed Melehi (Morocco) and Soly Cissé (Senegal). The curator is from Ivorian Yacouba Konaté.
