South Africa’s parliament confirmed on Wednesday Cyril Ramaphosa as the duly elected president of the country.
Ramaphosa, who is also the leader of the African National Congress (ANC), has the
support of the majority of 400 lawmakers in parliament’s National Assembly.

The ANC easily won South Africa’s May 8 general election. But its share of the vote fell. Corruption scandals and racial inequalities may be the appointed like the reasons for this fall.
This year´s elections were the country’s sixth democratic elections since 1994.
