São Paulo: a global scale metropolis

São Paulo is a large city in all ways: size, number of inhabitants, cultural and political movements, gastronomy, economy, and tourism. It is almost 500 years old and it is the economic capital of Brazil, nowadays, it is one of the largest urban center in the world. Its development assures notoriety on the global scenario, as it is classified as the largest and most influential city in Brazil and Latin America. Besides that, it houses the largest international institutions established in Brazil.

São Paulo is responsible for practically one-third of the GDP in Brazil. Part of that economic activity comes from informal commerce, made up by independent sellers, street vendors. The growth of the city ranks it as one of the best bets for the future. Nowadays, it is the 10th wealthiest city in the world and it is possible for it to rise to 6th place by 2025 in that ranking.

Considering the notoriety the capital of state of São Paulo on the international scenario, the tourism flow has also grown considerably. In 2014, for example, about 15 million people from all over the world visited the city. In order to handle such great demand, the metropolis features the largest airport in Brazil, the Guarulhos International Airport, located in the metropolitan region.

São Paulo is the Brazilian economic hub. But due to this, it is the land of dreams for Brazilians and those who are not Brazilian, who wish to achieve victories in their lives. It is a land of promises, complex, and full of contrasts: contemporaneous, historical, modern, fashionable, rich, and poor. It is a big city. Literally, it is the largest in Brazil.
