In Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, the president of the Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF), João Bosco Monte, met with representatives of the World Bank under the leadership of Hafez Ghanem, the Organization’s vice president for Africa. The meeting took place in parallel with the “Africa Food Security Leadership Dialogue” event, in which the IBRAF president attended.

During the meeting were discussed cooperation actions between World Bank and IBRAF, especially in identifying business opportunities between Brazilian and African companies, and youth technical training. Thus, it was agreed that both organizations will define how collaborative actions will be applied.
The World Bank will also be represented at the Brazil Africa 2019 Forum. The Organization’s Director of Food and Agriculture Global Practices will be one of the speakers at the event, which will take place in São Paulo from November 12 to 13.

With the main theme “Food Security: Path to Economic Growth”, the Brazil Africa Forum is in its 7th edition and consolidates itself as one of the main events for the strengthening of relations between Brazil and the African continent. In addition to the World Bank representative, Brazil’s Vice President Hamilton Mourão and Ghana’s Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia are also confirmed.
